Uninstall Microsoft edge browser

  • First, close the Edge Web Browser if it’s running
  • Now open This PC, Click the View tab
  • then check the Hidden items checkbox to see all hidden files and folders.

Now Navigate to the following directory:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Packages ( Where “C” is the drive where Windows 10 is installed, and UserName is your account name. )

  • Here you will see the package Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe.
  • Right-click on it and select properties.
  • Under General tab > Attributes, uncheck the Read-only check-box.
  • click apply.

Now again right-click on package Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe and select Delete then close the window.

  • Open Powershell window as an administrator,
  • When the power shell opens type the following command and hit Enter to execute the command.

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
