Microsoft Store not working
Before go ahead, make sure the latest windows updates are installed on your PC.
- Press Windows + X select settings,
- Click Update & security, and check for updates.
- Let windows download the latest updates if available,
- Restart your PC to apply the latest updates,
- Now open the Microsoft store and check if no more problems there.
Run Windows Store apps troubleshooter
This is the very first step, you must apply whenever you face a Problem with the Microsoft store, even the store app won’t open or stuck updating apps.
- Press Windows + X select settings,
- Click on Update & security then, Troubleshoot,
- Select Windows Store apps, and run the troubleshooter
- This will scan your computer, identify the problems and attempt to fix the issues automatically.
Clear Store cache
- Close the Microsoft Store app if it’s running.
- In the Start menu search box, type WSReset (Windows Store Reset) to see Wsreset in the search results.
- Right-click on WSReset and then click the Run as administrator option.
- This will reset the Windows Store without changing account settings or deleting installed apps.
- Check if this helps to fix Microsoft store app problems.
Reset Microsoft store
If the app isn’t working, try repairing and resetting the app.
- Select the Start button > Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
- Search for and select Microsoft store and select advanced options under the name of the app.
- On the page that opens with information about the app, select Repair.
- If repairing the app doesn’t fix the problem, select Reset.
Windows Store Cache May Be Damaged
First reset the store cache using wsreset command, If this didn’t fix the problem.
Navigate to the following path
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
- If there’s a Cache folder already, rename it Cache.old.
- Whether it existed already or not, create a new folder called Cache.
- Now run the store app troubleshooter check the problem is fixed.
Windows Store Is Missing
- From the start menu, Search for Powershell,
- Right-click on PowerShell and select Run as administrator,
- Now copy and paste the command below then press the enter key.
- Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
- Close PowerShell, restart your computer, and the Store should now be back.
Error Code 0x80072EFD
This error will appear when the Store is having network issues.
- Install the latest Windows Update,
- Try disabling your anti-virus and VPN if configured.
- Ensuring the time and date are correct on your system.
Tweak registry editor
- Press Windows + R, type regedit and ok to open the windows registry editor.
- Navigate the following key
- Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
- On the left-hand pane, right-click the Profiles folder and click Permissions.
- Click Advanced.
- Tick Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object, click OK, then restart your computer and load the Store.
Error Code 0x8000ffff
Apply the above solutions and check windows store Error Code 0x8000ffff is fixed.
If you still don’t then try switching Google’s public DNS settings.
- Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl and ok
- Right-click on the active network adapter, select properties,
- Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then Properties.
- Select Use the following DNS server addresses.
- For Preferred DNS server input 8.8.8.8. For Alternative DNS server input 8.8.4.4.
- Click OK, restart your PC and then load the Store.
