Microsoft Edge Cannot reach this page ‘inet_e_resource_not_found’ Error

This problem is either related to network & Internet connection or a problem with Edge browser settings. So first we apply some solutions to check and fix Internet connection problems. If this fails to fix then we go to Microsoft Edge browser settings to fix the problem.

Check and fix Network & Internet connection problems

First of all, Disable third-party anti-virus programs (If installed) and only enable Windows Defender.

Check and correct PC Date & time And Region settings. Open settings, Time & Language, Here check PCs Date & Timne Zone are correct, Also check Country Region is set to the United States.

Also, suggest that you restart your router and wait for 15-30 seconds then turn it on again.

Check and make sure you have a working internet connection. Or Ping Microsoft server

  1. Press Windows key + R to open the run window.
  2. Type cmd, then press Enter.
  3. Type ping www.microsoft.comthen press Enter.
  • If you receive 4 replies, your connection with the site is working properly.
  • If you got a request timeout, your Internet connection has issues.

  • Open the Start menu, then click the Settings icon.
  • Click Network & Internet.
  • On the left pane, click Status.
  • Click Network troubleshooter to diagnose and fix network problems.
  • After that restart windows and check The Internet connection started working.

  • On Start menu search Type cmd
  • Right-click on the Command prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • Type the following commands, then press Enter after typing each command below:

netsh int ip reset resettcpip.txt

netsh winhttp reset proxy

netsh int ip reset

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

netsh winsock reset

Close the command prompt. Now press Windows + R, type services.msc and ok, Here scroll down and look for Service named DNS client. Check its status, If it’s running then right Click and select restart. If the service is not started double click on it change the startup type Automatic and start the service.

Restart your PC to complete the process. And check the Internet connection Started working.

Changing DNS settings in Windows 10

  1. Press Windows + R, type ncpa.cpl and ok
  2. Here Network connections window, right-click on the Active network adapter and select properties.
  3. On the properties window, double click “Protocol 4 (TCP / IPv4)”.
  4. Finally, on the IP Version 4 Properties page (TCP / IPv4) – select “Use the following DNS server addresses” and enter
  • “Preferred DNS server” as 8.8.8.8
  • “Alternate DNS server” as 8.8.4.4

Disable TCP Fast Open feature on Edge

  1. Launch Microsoft Edge.
  2. In the URL address bar, type about:flags.
  3. Look for Enable TCP Fast Open under Networking and uncheck it.

Then press Windows + E to open file explorer then,

  • From C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages, select and delete the following folder: Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe (Select “Yes” on any confirmation dialog that follows.)
  • Then In %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SettingSync\metastore, delete meta.edb, if it exists.
  • In %localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SettingSync\remotemetastore\v1, delete meta.edb, if it exists.

And Turn “on” Device Sync Settings Settings > Accounts > Sync your Settings > Sync Settings.

Now Right-click on the Windows 10 Start menu, Select Powershell (Admin)

Copy the following command, then Paste it in the PowerShell window and press Enter to run it:

Re-register the missing apps using PowerShell
